In my favorite poem by Robert Frost, Nothing Gold Can Stay, he reminds us that like the seasons of nature, life is one season melting into another, and quickly fading away. This is my attempt to document each season in my life and my family.

Procrastination

So, I’ve not posted in several days, but I’ve been busy. Lots to do around here. The biggest and best news I have to talk about is….Chris is coming home!!! On Saturday. So, we’ve got three more days. He was supposed to get here really late Saturday night, around midnight, but he moved his flight up. Now, he’s going to get to Knoxville around 9;45 A.M. I’m so excited. I can’t wait for him to get here. The kids are excited. Kyra keeps telling me that it’s time for her Daden to come home. I agree. We can’t wait!
So, this week, I’ve been trying (or supposed to be trying) to get everything ready for his return. I want things to be perfect. I mowed the yard Monday, and did the weedeating. That is a big job. It wore me out. Today, I need to straighten up the house, and do some heavy cleaning. Tomorrow, I will probably go to the grocery store. I’ve not done very much cooking at all since he’s been gone. A lot of microwave meals, and cooking a pot of spaghetti that will feed us for a week. ;) So, I’m going to have to buy some “real” groceries, and get ready to cook a lot of nice meals for my man. Gonna clean the van out Friday. I have enough dirt in the passenger side floorboard to start a garden in. Literally. My mother’s day flower pot turned over, and I’ve got a pile of potting soil that needs to be vacuumed out. So, I’m sure you can see that I’ve got a lot to accomplish the next few days.

In other news…

I had a good Mother’s Day. Chris sent me roses and chocolates, and Kyra made me a flower pot in Sunday School that said “Happy Mother’s Day ‘05″ and had her name and her handprints on it. I was so excited to get my first Sunday School craft gift. It is adorable.

Elijah got a new tooth. Number 5! So, yay for that. It’s been a long time coming. I think number 6 may actually be fixing to make an appearance, too.

We went to the zoo Saturday, and had a really fun time. It was fun to watch Elijah. He liked it a lot. He loves animals. He was fascinated by the more active ones. Kyra rode a burro. She thought that was fantastic. They have a new playground, too, that they had lots of fun playing on. I’ll try to post some pictures a little later.

I got my hair colored yesterday. I changed it up again. Now, it’s very, very red. Real dark red. I like it.

Well, since that’s about all the news I had to write about, I guess I better put an end to this procrastination, and get on with my day. I have a lot to do. So, here I go.
