In my favorite poem by Robert Frost, Nothing Gold Can Stay, he reminds us that like the seasons of nature, life is one season melting into another, and quickly fading away. This is my attempt to document each season in my life and my family.

Up a creek..

without a paddle. Ugh. Have sick kids complicates things. I thought we were all well, and then Kyra threw up again this morning. Elijah still had diahreah. I need to go to the store, because we’re running out of things. I can’t take the kids with me, though. Chris is working until seven tonight, and then he has to do schoolwork. So, how am I supposed to get the things we need? Ugh. I hate when things like this happen, and mess up my nice flow I have going. I guess I’ll go calling my mom for a favor again. Maybe she can come stay with the kids after she gets off of work. I hate being a bother to people.

Nothing else to write about. Please, please get better soon, Kyra! I’m tired of sickness.

Well, the past two days have been awfully trying, but, thankfully, they are over. After Kyra got sick, Elijah woke up the next morning throwing up. So, I was taking care of two sick kiddos yesterday, when I started feeling bad. I started throwing up yesterday evening, and was up all night long throwing up. We’re all better now, thank God. The kids both have diahreah, but they seem to feel fine. I’m sure you wanted to know that, but, hey, it’s my blog. :)
It’s nearly one a.m., and I’m suprised I’m still up, after being up the past two nights. Me and the kids took a late nap this evening, though, and Kyra just now fell asleep. I wanted her to go to sleep first, so I could put her in her own bed. I didn’t want kids in the bed to start out with. Elijah is in his crib, and Chris has been asleep for hours. He went to bed at like nine o’clock. I kind of like being up to read, post on my message board, blog, or whatever in peace, after everyone else is asleep.

I think I’m going to head to bed, now, since I’ve not done anything to post about except puke in the past two days. Goodnight. Goodnight.

I had a good day today. I got the house pretty much in order. It’s not spotless or anything, but it’s somewhat presentable. My neighbor came over for a while, and we had a good time visiting. It was really nice to talk to another adult for a while. Everything went pretty well.

Then, after everyone else was in bed asleep, I was up reading, and I heard Kyra throwing up. She puked all in her bed, and all over herself. Poor thing. She’s thrown up six times already tonight. She’s finally asleep, on the couch, but she’s been dozing and then waking to puke. I hope she can stay asleep this time. I feel bad for her. I know how miserable it is when you throw up over and over on an empty stomach like that. I hope it doesn’t spread. I so badly don’t want to get sick, and I really, really, REALLY don’t want Elijah to get sick. He is sleeping amazingly well tonight. I hope he sticks it out, so I can give Kyra my full attention if she needs it.

It’s one a.m., and I’m starting to get sleepy. I’m going to try to take Kyra to bed, and go to bed myself. I don’t know if she’ll last long, but maybe she’s through throwing up for the night.

Happy New Year and all that jazz….

It’s been a few days since I’ve posted. Chris was off of work, so we’ve been busy. He went back to work this morning, so it’s back to the daily grind.

I’m not going to post my New Year’s Resolutions, because that would be a bit much. I always have grand plans to become a better person in the new year. It rarely happens, but maybe it will this year. I want to be a better person. You know? Resolutions are kind of gay, but if I write them down they kind of mock me and guilt me into making an effort.

I finished The Winter of Our Discontent the other day. Good book. I liked it. I didn’t like the ending all that well. That’s the thing about John Steinbeck’s books. Often, the endings leave me unsatistfied. Right now, I’m about half way through East of Eden. It is great. I love it. It’s one of those books that I just don’t ever want it to end. It’s so good. I’m two hundred and something pages into it, and I’ve not even got it half way read. I love that. It’s so interesting. I hope the ending to it is more satsifying.

Elijah has got two new teeth coming in. His top two. They broke through the gum Saturday. He’s been a bit happier. He’s getting so big.

Kyra spent the night away from home for no reason other than just for the fun of it Friday night. She had spent the night with my mom two times before. Once was when I was pregnant with Elijah and really sick, and the other time was when I was in the hospital having Elijah. Kyra had a lot of fun. She helped mom bake a cake, and played outside. She cried half way home when we brought her home Saturday evening. She was crying, “My Mammy! My Mammy!”. :) I’m wondering if Friday nights at Mammy’s are going to be a tradition? Friday evening, Elijah stayed with her, too, but we didn’t leave him overnight. Chris and I went out to eat and to the movies. It was so great to have time without the kids. That might sound bad, but it was still nice. I needed a break.

I haven’t posted a thing about the tsunami. It has been mentioned on every other blog I’ve read lately, but I just have no words. It really upset me a lot. To the point that I can’t watch the news about it anymore. It just makes me upset. I don’t understand it, and I don’t want to think about it.

Kyrs is going “chugga chugga choo choo”, at the moment. She’s so cute when she participates with Dora.

I don’t have much else to say, I don’t guess. I could write more, but it would be boring. I better get started on my stuff for today. The kids let me sleep till nearly ten o’clock today. I don’t know why they slept so late, but I appreciated it, since I’m not feeling quite up to par. I have a sinus infection. That reminds me…I need to make Eli a doctor’s appointment for his nine month checkup. Anyway, I’m getting a late start, but oh well. It’s not like I’m going anywhere.
