In my favorite poem by Robert Frost, Nothing Gold Can Stay, he reminds us that like the seasons of nature, life is one season melting into another, and quickly fading away. This is my attempt to document each season in my life and my family.

Well, ladies, you've stopped blogging! :) I miss you. Hope you had a great Thanksgiving. I wish it had've worked out for us to meet up, but our trip was just so short. I'm already back in SC. Lots to do to get ready for the field. Love to you all.

How wonderful Rachel! I cannot wait to hear all about it. You are so blessed to have found Amy, as she is to have found you. Don't forget to post pictures! I have not seen Owen's adorable little cheeks in what seems like forever! Ditto on Kyra and Elijah.

Yeh... My husband has been gone for too long. I've not gotten used to it, I've just gotten tired of it!

It is do-able though. Because Christ's strength is made perfect in our weakness.

yeah, I'd rather have mine here, in the States, telling me that he doesn't want me to leave for a week. = )I have a couple of friends who are in the military, and I respect them so much. I always ask one of my friends, whose husband is in the army, how she does it. He was gone for an entire year in Japan one time, and she told me, while shrugging, "you just get used to it. All civilian wives tell me they could never be seperated from their husbands for that long. But, you just do it, and you learn to get used to it. It's hard, but it is do-able." I am still in awe, though!

It helps that my husband is in Afghanistan... he doesn't seem to notice if I leave home for a week or three at a time.

Believe me, if I had a husband that would say, "Sure, hop in the van and go stay with your best friend for a week! Have fun!" I would be in the van in a millisecond. But alas, all husbands aren't the same. Needless to say, mine just isn't as understanding as yours. = ) But that's all right, I still like mine. I hope you're having fun, sniff, sniff....

Six hours? Six hours is nothing. You should go see your friend! :) Amy and I are about ten hours apart. It's well worth the drive, though. Because, really, she's crazy cool!

No fair. My best, bosom, awesome friend lives six hours away, and I never.get.to.see.her. Well, okay, I get to see her once a year. When we go to Louisville, fifteen minutes from her, for a youth conference. And because I am chaperoning a bunch of, er, hightstrung teens, I only get to see her the morning we leave. For like two hours. I am pouting. Not fair. have fun. I'll read about all the awesome fun you are having with your bosom friend, while I think of mine. = )
