In my favorite poem by Robert Frost, Nothing Gold Can Stay, he reminds us that like the seasons of nature, life is one season melting into another, and quickly fading away. This is my attempt to document each season in my life and my family.

Don’t Worry

Filed under: Elijah, Kids — Rachel at 12:01 am on Wednesday, September 12, 2007

For all of you people who have worried that I have squelched my child’s dreams… you should know that Elijah came to both Chris and I separately and told us that he had decided to go to college so he could be an astronaut. It was really quite pitiful. He looked as if he had been wrestling with the idea for the two or three days since the original conversation. He told me, “Mama…me will go to college. Me want to be an astronaut.”

I’m so proud. Hopefully, his grammar will improve before then. Those personal pronouns get him every time.

Oh, good. I was worried. ;)

What a cutie. Sacrificing a life of play for college. We need little boys like this. (I bet we even need some alligators, Holly – don’t worry!)

Just what I like to see in a feller…determination. :O) Glad he’s made that monumental decision at such a young, tender age. He is SO cute!

Ahh, how sweet. He’s a tough little guy! It’s going to be an exciting life with him!
