In my favorite poem by Robert Frost, Nothing Gold Can Stay, he reminds us that like the seasons of nature, life is one season melting into another, and quickly fading away. This is my attempt to document each season in my life and my family.

Results of my little poll….

Filed under: General — Rachel at 6:26 pm on Friday, January 13, 2006

I asked for opinions about my boy names, here on my blog, and on two different message boards that I post on. I took Noah off the list because I was never crazy about it myself, and Chris told me last night that he doesn’t really like it. He’s always suggesting a name, only to tell me later that he didn’t really like it much in the first place. Anyway… Here are the results so far:

Judah: 4
Levi: 13
Asher: 13

I find myself leaning more and more towards Asher, but my mind is far from made up. I kind of thought that most people would think that Asher was way out there, and wouldn’t care for it. Finding out that so many people like it, it makes me like it even more, because I don’t feel so much like I might be giving my kid a name that no one likes but me.
Levi was my second favorite of the list, and it’s a close second in the poll of everyone else.
I will update this post if anyone else cares to give me your opinion. (I really hope you will!) A lot of people have read my post on the subject, but only one person has commented. (Thanks, Dianna.) Don’t you people love me? Just kidding. Of course you love me. How could you not? Right? Right?

Ummm I hate to be a downer here but I don’t like Asher. It makes me think of when Paris had a fling with the professor on Gilmore Girls. I like Noah even though I am out voted :)

Maytina, thanks for your vote. Suprisingly, I am feeling alright. Quite good, actually. It’s nice. I hope it lasts.

Jen, no worries. I will accept you being a downer, since I wanted real opinions. lol Was that the professor’s name? I don’t remember, and obviously didn’t take that into consideration. lol I started liking this name when Bro. Nevin Neal (who is the son of the pastor at Swan Pond) preached at our church, and his younger brother came with him. His brother’s name was Asher, and I thought it was so cool. Anyway…Noah is definitely out of the running. Do you hate Levi and Judah, too? Just so you know, I’ve avoided Katelyn (spelled whatever way) like the plague, in your consideration, but it appears that I may have a niece with that name. That is what Aaron wants to name their baby. Anyway, just thought I would share.

I like Levi for 2 reasons. 1) I had a huge crush on a boy named levi once upon a time :) and 2) It sounds good if you say “Kyra, Elijah, and Levi”

You don’t remember the fling with Asher Flemming? Thats the first thing that pops into my head when I hear the name. :) I will have to say Levi is my second choice since Noah is out. And I appreciate the steering clear of Katelyn. Although Ben and Heather are threatening to name theirs that if it ends up being a girl and I have protested continously!!! But is’s not workin. I’m prayin for a boy!

I remember the name now, Jen, but it didn’t even occur to me before you brought it up. What do you think about last night’s episode. I was so mad when it went off. Chris thought I was nuts, but I was like, “If they postpone the wedding, they won’t get married until NEXT season!”. Ugh. Stupid writers.

Exactly! I was very mad!!!! Surely they won’t do that do us. I mean we had to wait a whole season just to find out if he said yes to her proposal or not. : )
