In my favorite poem by Robert Frost, Nothing Gold Can Stay, he reminds us that like the seasons of nature, life is one season melting into another, and quickly fading away. This is my attempt to document each season in my life and my family.

Update on Kyra

Filed under: General — Rachel at 10:44 am on Wednesday, October 12, 2005

Thanks to those of you who emailed or called to check on Kyra. It means a lot to know that people are thinking of and praying for my little girl. She’s doing quite well, really. She felt bad Monday morning, when I took her to the doctor, but she’s felt fine ever since she’s been taking medicine for it. She is only coughing bad at night and in the mornings, but last night and this morning her coughing was much better than it had been. She will also have a coughing fit if she’s playing real hard, but she’s really doing a whole lot better. I’m so glad she’s not been miserable, to go along with the coughing. She was hospitalized for the croup when she was about fourteen or fifteen months old, and so anytime she has any kind of respiratory problem it kind of freaks me out. I think she’s on the mend, though, and I really don’t expect it to get any worse. I called the doctor this morning to ask if she’s contagious or if I can take her out, and am waiting on his nurse to call me back. She’s already getting stir crazy, and asking for me to take her somewhere. I really want to go to church tonight, if it’s okay for her, so I’m hoping that she’s well enough. Thanks again for your prayers!

Misty,
Hey. Don’t worry about it. I understand about being busy. Kyra is feeling a lot better, so that’s a relief. The doctor scared me when he came back after the x-ray and said “pneumonia”. I’m not totally sure what mom told you about Christmas. Just give me a call when you can today, and we’ll figure it out and you can ask me whatever else you wanted to. You’ve got me curious! Hope you guys had a good camping trip. Anyway, you do have my phone number right? Just give me a call whenever. I should be home most of the day.

Love you!
Rachel
