In my favorite poem by Robert Frost, Nothing Gold Can Stay, he reminds us that like the seasons of nature, life is one season melting into another, and quickly fading away. This is my attempt to document each season in my life and my family.

Sunday Night Ramblings

Filed under: General — Rachel at 9:09 pm on Sunday, October 9, 2005

Well, we had a good service at church today. The Sunday morning series that Bro. Bret has been preaching is really good. I really liked it a lot. After church, I went to my mom’s for dinner. She made chicken pot pie. It was really good, and the downside of really good, homemade food is that I ate too much of it. Considering I am on a diet…not good. I also played Scrabble with Luke and Seth (which we somehow forgot to finish), and a computer game of Life. Around three o’clock, I took the kids to visit my grandparents. I haven’t seen them in a while, and it had really been a while since I just took my kids to visit them at their house. It was nice. We had a good visit, and I tried really hard to get a good picture of my grandparents with my kids. It wasn’t happening. They wouldn’t cooperate. I did get a few good ones, though.

I was asked to take over janitorial duties at church for a while, maybe permantely, but I don’t know yet. I was really glad to be asked, because I wanted to be more involved in the church. Helping out with the cleaning is one way to be involved, and I am really glad for the opportunity. I cleaned it Thursday, and it took me four hours start to finish. It’s a big job, but I can handle it.

Chris is working every day this week, except for Friday. That stinks, but oh well. I will be so glad when something changes with his work situation. I’m tired of him working all of the time. At least he has a job, though, right? Right.

I’m reading The Chronicles of Narnia right now. Really cool book, so far. Anyone read it? What did you think about it, if you did?

What else? Not much else, I don’t guess. I’m still working out like crazy, and trying (as mentioned above, sometimes I don’t do so good with it) to stick to my diet. I’ve only lost one more pound since my last post, though. Baby steps, Rachel, baby steps.

So long!

Do not despise the days of small beginnings!

And watch Biggest Loser for diet encouragement. Thats what I do.
