Monday’s This and That
Whew! It’s Monday already. The weeks seem to be flying by, lately. I feel really old when I say things like that. It’s amazing to me how time speeds up a little bit every year.
I’ve got a ton of things to do today. I need to go to the grocery store, the Farmer’s Market, and I wanted to go by all the local thrift stores in search of a small bookshelf for the kids’ books. My father in law had surgery Saturday, and I believe he got to come home yesterday. He lives alone, so I was going to call him and see if he needed anything from the store, and then drop by to visit with him for a little bit. I feel bad for anyone who has to recuperate from a surgery or illness alone. It just sounds so depressing.
Tonight starts revival at church. We are having Bro. Alfred Willis. He is one of my favorite preacher’s. He’s quite funny, on top of being a good preacher. By the way, for anyone who knows our recent church situation, we joined the church on Wednesday night. I’m quite excited about it. I’ve really enjoyed going there. So, all my nights this week are going to be spent at church. Hopefully, I can manage to stay out of the nursery. That’s a hard thing to do with Elijah. He’s just not very church-friendly, right now. Unfortunately, Thursday will be the only night that Chris is going to get to go, since they are forcing him to work mandatory overtime at work.
I know my fellow mothers can appreciate my jubilation over the small bit of progress that this past week has brought Kyra and I in the potty-training department. Potty-training is proving to be my Achilles heel. It has frustrated me to no end. Just when I was resigning myself to the fact that Kyra was going to graduate from high school before she was potty-trained, she has thrown me a bone. So, cross your fingers for us that the progress will continue.
Well, I guess that’s it for now. For such a busy day, I haven’t got a very good start on it. I’m still in a partially-dressed state, and the kids are in their pajamas. So, this is me getting up, getting motivated, and getting out the door. Almost.
