In my favorite poem by Robert Frost, Nothing Gold Can Stay, he reminds us that like the seasons of nature, life is one season melting into another, and quickly fading away. This is my attempt to document each season in my life and my family.

What a Relief!

So, after taking the kids to the storytime at the library today, I walked accross the street to the eye doctor’s office, and asked them about my glasses. I wasn’t aware of it, but my glasses are under a one year warranty. Can you say, “yay”? I was so relieved. If they can’t fix them, they’ll get me a new pair. I’ll have them in a week. I was so happy.

After that, we went to take some movies back to the video store, Wendys to eat, and then I drove all the way to Walmart to get Elijah’s hair cut. It started pouring the rain on the way there, so, after I parked, I went climbing through the van to get the umbrella, which was in the back. As I was doing so, the thong of my flip-flops broke. There was no way I could keep it on my foot while walking. So, I had to turn around, and go all the way home. I got some new flip-flops (I adore flip-flops.), and gathered the two bags of trash into the van. I then went to the dump, and then went back to Walmart. I got Elijah’s hair cut. He looks really cute, and very little-boy-ish. We also picked up their Easter pictures while we were there. So, then, I come home, and here I am. I got all my errands ran, and I’m still elated over finding out I don’t have to worry about my glasses.

On my first trip home, I passed an ambulance going to my neighbor’s house. Someone was being loaded into the ambulance. I don’t know those neighbors at all, but I hope they are all okay.

I’m also getting some new neighbor’s, just around the curve from us, and they were moving in today. I’m very excited about it. I don’t know if they have kids around my kids’ ages, if they’re older people, or what. I did see a truck parked on the road in front of their house, with a trailor full of canoes, and it had a Texas license plate. So, I am very curious. I wouldn’t think that an older couple would be into canoeing, but…who knows. I can’t wait to find out who they are.

Well, I have a strong craving to go and open a can of black olives, and eat the entire thing. I don’t know what that’s about, but they just sound so good. So, I think I shall. Who’s going to know? ;)
