In my favorite poem by Robert Frost, Nothing Gold Can Stay, he reminds us that like the seasons of nature, life is one season melting into another, and quickly fading away. This is my attempt to document each season in my life and my family.

It’s A Girl!!!

Filed under: Family, Kids, Kyra, Photos, Pregnancy — Rachel at 10:37 am on Tuesday, November 11, 2008

I’m so very excited. My big ultrasound was yesterday. Chris and Amy accompanied me to my appointment, and I was overjoyed to find out we’re having our second daughter…Abigail Joanna.

Abby looked perfect. A healthy little girl.

Amy took a photo of Chris and I before the u/s started.

Amy Jo and I in the waiting room. We forgot to get a picture of her and I together in the u/s room, because she was videoing the whole experience for me. It was so great to have my best friend with me for such an important day.

The kids were all very excited when we came home and told them it was a girl. Everyone wanted a girl this time around, so there were lots of happy faces. Kyra is very excited to be having a baby sister. Amy videoed their reaction the the news, and I will try to post that sometime soon. I still have to upload it to my computer.

Congrats on the news of your baby girl! How exciting! We found out that we are probably having our 4th boy. It seemed pretty obvious but I was a little under 16 weeks when we found out. It will be confirmed at my 20 week ultrasound. It’d be nice to have a girl of my own someday. Oh well, I guess we’ll try with #5 (if we have a #5!). ;) Anyway, I’m so happy for you! I love the name by the way!

Thanks, Jenn and Sarah. I didn’t think anyone still read my blog. :) It’s been so long since I blogged regularly. I’m hoping to revive my posting soon, once my semester ends (in about a month). Of course, once Abby gets here, I’m sure I’ll be posting baby stuff all the time. :)

Sarah, congratulations on your baby boy. I know a lady who has four boys, and, while she would have loved a little girl, it’s so neat to see the relationship she has with her boys. Two of them are pretty much grown, and the other two are like eight and ten or something like that. She has the sweetest relationship with them, and they obviously adore their mama. If the Lord blesses you with a #5, I hope it will be your little girl. Can you imagine how spoiled a little girl would be with four big brothers? :)

I love the pictures of the kids…I can’t believe how they’re growing!

[...] While we were on that side of the Mississippi, we saw Rachel too. I got to go to her ultrasound. She’s having a girl! [...]
